As our world becomes increasingly dependent on technology, cybersecurity and digital literacy are topics of growing importance. This course prepares students with crucial skills to be responsible citizens in a digital future.
In FSIS, students will learn foundational computer basics, cybersecurity topics, digital citizenship, and cyber hygiene mostly through the CodeHS web-based platform. Students will complete a culminating extension project where they will create a digital presentation of their choice. This is not a coding intensive course. Rather, students will learn the basics of protecting their own data and become aware of how cybersecurity is important for the information age in which we live. Students will also utilize Google Classroom to meet additional participation and employability standards throughout the nine weeks.
